The main aim of the Media Workshop is to provide a forum for concerned Christians to discuss issues relating to local media programs in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and ways in which the church of Christ can make more effective use of available forms of media to communicate the message of Christ.
This year’s theme comes from Matthew 5:16: LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE BEFORE MEN, THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS, AND GLORIFY YOUR FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN. Social media warrants special attention because our members now have the ability to reach and global audience and the church needs to arm and equip itself for the opportunities and challenges that come with this. Last year’s theme was taken from Acts 5:28 and focused primarily on areas of electronic media (radio and television) with proposals to possibly venture into new media (internet-based). While there will be aspects of this, the theme for the 2014 Media Workshop would also include discussions on social (personal) media. |
