On Sunday October 12, a small group of eleven brothers and seven sisters from Kingstown Church of Christ journeyed to the Lewis Punnett Home in Glen to worship with their brethren there. The gathering, accompanied by two visitors, was earlier encouraged at the morning sermon to, "Do Well in Giving," specifically in areas of ministry beyond financial contributions.

The gathering, accompanied by two visitors, was earlier encouraged at the morning sermon to, "Do Well in Giving," specifically in areas of ministry beyond financial contributions.
The visit, scheduled since December 2013, came at a particularly providential time since two brethren who were also residents at Lewis Punnett Home, George Bess and Hyleius Patrick, were laid to rest on the previous Friday and Saturday. The remaining three brethren, Raymond Fletcher, Phillip 'Rusty' Lee and Jennifer Morgan, along with other residents who attended the service, were comforted as joyous songs of praise, peace and hope went forth. The songs were led by Alwyn Mandeville who is among a small but committed group of brethren responsible for maintaining the monthly Lewis Punnett Home ministry.
Following the song service, punctuated with an opening prayer by Ian Haynes, a sermon was delivered by Jamali Jack. In his exhortation, Jack spoke on the temporal nature humanity's earthly sojourn with a message entitled, The Vanity of (Mortal) Life. The message was primarily focused on the book of Ecclesiastes and wise King Solomon's search for meaning and purpose to earthly life which is but for a brief moment. After concluding that human pursuits - pleasure, labour, wisdom, riches, power, etc are ultimately ephemeral, hope was given in seeking a life in Christ. A brief explanation of this hope was offered in looking at the first nine verses of 2 Corinthians 5. The message ended with an appeal to obey THE GOSPEL of Christ before the uncertain but inevitable end of life.
As an example of the importance of laying hold of salvation with haste, reference was made to the fact that almost exactly a year ago, one of the recently deceased brothers, George Bess, was not yet a Christian. However, two weeks following the October 2013 visit, he made the decision to obey THE GOSPEL Jesus Christ by being baptized for the forgiveness of his sins.

The Lord's Supper, which followed the sermon, was conducted by two young but active and growing brothers in the faith, Donald Spence and Silvannas Mckenzie. Both brothers have made numerous visits to the Lewis Punnett Home and continue to show Christian compassion to the brethren and residents there.
After the final chorus was sung, the worship service ended with a prayer by Joel H. Jack. Jack thanked and encouraged all in attendance along with the Lewis Punnett Home staff not to be weary in well-doing. Regular distributions of items and visits to residents of the home were made before the group left to visit their elderly sister Reese who also resides nearby in Glen.
During the short visit with sister Reese, Denzil Fraser, instrumental in the Lewis Punnett Home ministry, led the singing and conducted the Lord's Supper. An exhortation was given by Silvannas Mckenzie and closing prayer by Joel Neptune.
To God be the glory.
