Kingstown Church of Christ (KCC), on Wednesday March 18, hosted a graduation ceremony and farewell celebration to mark the end of the 11-week Fishers of Men (FOM) course. The event marked a end of a week of celebrations that began in Sandy Bay on Sunday 15, and continued in Richland Park on Tuesday 17. The 6PM ceremony, which commenced with a prayer and opening remarks by Elton Lewis, evangelist at KCC, was to honor the 59 students who took the course at Kingstown. Students were awarded certificates of completion and received fish-hook pins. Acknowledgement was also made of the patient contribution of the many study parters, without whom the course would not be complete. A surprise presentation of tokens of appreciation was made to Ron and Louise Maynard. The ceremony ended with a prayer by Joel H. Jack and was followed with light refreshments.

The 59 students represented persons associated with congregations in Arnos Vale, Barrouallie, Retreat, Spring Village, as well as host congregation, Kingstown. During the course, graduating students individually read 1,411 Bible  verses, answered 4,691 questions, devoted, on average, 1 hour to Bible study 6 days a week for 10 weeks. Collectively, they asked 802 Developing Interest Questions (DIQs) and conducted 685 studies from the Search For Truth Bible study series. 54% of the students taking the course at Kingstown achieved Honour Club status by accumulating more than 200,000 points, with one student receiving over 500,000 points. The 3-month intensive training in personal evangelism, which is a ministry of the Cordova Church of Christ in Tennessee, coincides nicely with KCC's theme for 2015 - Be Courageous, Be Contagious! The Harvest is Plentiful, Souls are Precious. As of the publication of this article, 8 souls have obeyed the gospel at Kingstown since the year began, and anticipation and excitement is alive to reap a continued harvest for Christ.

After the presentation of certificates and fish-hook pins, Elton Lewis, evangelist at KCC, presented the Maynards with a gift bag containing tokens of appreciation from the members of Kingstown congregation. The tokens included a framed photo, commemorative plaque, place-mats and customized polo shirts and jewelry. These were bestowed in recognition of brother and sister Maynard's labour of love over a period of 3 months in St. Vincent. Since the first week of January 2015, they made weekly trips and conducted sessions in Kingstown, Richland Park and Sandy Bay, traveling a combined total of 792 miles (72 miles weekly).

On the following day (Thursday 19), Ron and Louise Maynard caught an early morning flight back to the United States where they will soon be conducting another series of FOM sessions beginning in early spring. [GET MORE DETAILS IN THEIR MARCH 2015 NEWSLETTER]

To God be the glory great things he has done. I thank God with all my heart for the opportunity that was given to me to study so intensely a second time around from his words. It was truly a rewarding experience participating in the FOM 1 1 weeks training course.
Although after work i was tired, I looked forward each time to just devour the 80 questions assignments. I saw a lot of things in a different light as the many questions caused me to take a second look at what I already know.
I believe that I am a better Bible teacher as a result of participating in the FOM 1 1 weeks training course. My approach in conducting Bible study has been replaced with a better one. I listen more than I lecture and allow the students to discover the answers for themselves by asking more open questions. It really makes a more balanced study.
I strongly recommend that all Christians participate in the FOM training courses when ever it is made available in your area.
