Kingstown Church of Christ hosted the second annual Media Workshop on Saturday March 1st, 2014. The theme of the workshop was taken from Matthew 5:16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
According to the 2014 coordinator, Jamali Jack, "The workshop was attended by brethren from 7 of the 13 congregations on St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This can be considered as an improvement compared to last year's inaugural workshop which had representation from 5 congregations." He continued, "In addition to the host congregation, brethren from Barrouallie, Biabou, Georgetown, Retreat, Richland Park and Spring Village churches of Christ attended this year's workshop."
The workshop opened with a prayer by Junior Gellizeau of Spring Village Church of Christ and remarks by the coordinator. Brief reports were given on media programs hosted by members of the church. Rohan Hector of Richland Park Church of Christ hosts The Bible Speaks (Sundays 12:30-1PM) on SVG TV. Joel H. Jack of Kingstown Church of Christ, along with Edley Dunbar of Retreat Church of Christ, hosts Scriptural Search (Tuesdays 6-7PM) on WE FM. Both were in attendance and the program report was delivered by Jack. Joel Richards of Kingstown Church of Christ hosts Search For Truth (Fridays 6:15-6:30AM) on NBC Radio. Jamali Jack reported on behalf of the Full and Abundant Life (Saturdays 10AM-12PM) on Cross Country Radio, which he occasionally guest hosts. The full-time host, Dr. Claudius Davis, resides in New Jersey (USA) and hosts the program via Skype. Jack Gellizeau of Spring Village Church of Christ also reported on financial matters related to The Bible Speaks.
This year's coordinator, who is also the Chief Creative Designer at iMaculate iMagez, also made a keynote presentation on personal, national and global evangelism efforts throughout human history and how developing forms of media contributed to, and affected, the effectiveness of these. He also introduced the recently launched website of Kingstown Church of Christ.

Exactly 2 months since its launch, the site has seen well over 13,000 page views from more than 2,000 visits in 31 countries. 58% of the site's traffic originates in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and 23% of the total traffic represents new visitors. In giving the statistical figures, Jack pointed out that, "While anecdotal evidence is encouraging, concrete data is helpful in determining the effectiveness of media initiatives." He further explained, "Notwithstanding, the ultimate aim of all uses of media should be to share the message of, and encourage obedience to, THE GOSPEL of Christ." Mention was also made of the congregation's Facebook and Twitter accounts and the opportunities they offer to make the most effective use of social media.
In keeping with the workshop's theme, Jack stressed the importance of individual forms of communication, i.e. social media platforms, as a means of sharing the message of Jesus Christ. He stated that all other efforts could have very little effect if individual Christians with social media accounts do not reflect the ideals found in the scriptures and promoted on mass media programs of the church. In closing, a challenge was issued to encourage brethren to truly let the light of Christ shine upon those with whom we have influence.
The workshop ended at 1:20PM with a prayer by Elvis Daniel of Georgetown Church of Christ. Refreshments and lunch were provided by Lucinta Mandeville and Denzil and Lucy Fraser of Kingstown Church of Christ.
