Sweet Home Alabama
Of course we cannot really claim Alabama as our home, but we have been here to teach Fishers of Men classes so many times that we are almost natives. Since Alabama is not truly our home state, we do not have to make a choice between the Alabama and Auburn football teams, thus alienating half of our classes. They take their football seriously down here!
They also take sharing the gospel seriously, and that is why we are once again camped in our RV on the banks of the beautiful Tennessee River at Point Mallard Campground. We are indebted to Aaron Fletcher and David Barker for transporting the RV from Lewisburg, TN, and to David Jent for providing covered storage for it since last June.

We have three classes with congregations that are new to us: Flint in Decatur on Monday evenings, Curry on Tuesday evenings, and Tanner on Thursday evenings. In addition, we go to Midway in Trinity on Wednesday mornings for a class made up mostly of alumni. They have hosted five classes since 2004. At the end of four weeks of classes our statistics are:
Students: 53
Developing Interest Contacts: 160
Bible Studies: 16
Some of our students are already very active in evangelism. They are working in jail ministries and internet teaching. They have shared the gospel in foreign countries. They are excited to add this new tool to their evangelism toolbox.

St. Vincent
We are excited to hear of an additional baptism into Christ as a result of ongoing Bible studies in St. Vincent. Praise God for the increase!
MinnesotaWe do still have a home in Minnesota, though our friends and family there might dispute that. Since returning from St. Vincent in March, we have tried to go home more often to be with the church in Mankato and with children and grandchildren. We are excited to have an evangelist coming to work with us in June. In the meantime, I have been taking my turn teaching and preaching. We attended the Minnesota Bible Lectures in April, setting up a display and recruiting for fall classes in the mid-north. Some have expressed interest in South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. | Back to Alabama in 2016We are also pleased to have been asked to return to Alabama beginning in January, 2016. Heritage Christian University has invited me to teach the Fishers of Men class on campus. This will be the fourth time to teach there since going there first in 2002 to teach two classes with a total of 300 students! The university is inviting students from local congregations to take the class, opening it up to those who are not currently enrolled at Heritage. This promises to be a great opportunity to “commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” II Timothy 2:2 |
Our Health
Often we are asked about our health issues, so I will briefly bring you up to date. Blessedly, there is little change to report. The standard medications for Parkinson’s continue to be effective. The main problem is loss of strength and volume in my voice, and I must use a microphone, even in small classrooms. My vision is still good enough for me to be able to read and drive, though Louise does the night driving. We are both 70 years old now, and we praise God for the health and strength He gives us to do this work which is so dear to our hearts.
Can you help us financially?
Please prayerfully consider our needs. Funds may be sent to Cordova church of Christ, 7801 Macon Road, Cordova, TN 38018.
