Our dear sister, Carmen was a humble, loving and kind person. She loved to share the produce from her garden. My family enjoyed the lovely fruits and vegetables she frequently shared with us. As a Christian, she took her service to God and attendance to worship seriously, often walking a long distance (in spite of her age) so that she could be present and on time. She was also an emotional individual and I now reminisce of how she loved to sing the song ‘If we never meet again this side of heaven’ and often she would say out loud to the song leader, “brother, sing it again”. She loved her family dearly. It is with sadness that I am not able to attend her funeral due to the present COVID-19 situation in SVG. She is no longer with us but she will not be forgotten. Her acts of love and kindness will always be remembered. Condolences to her family, friends and brethren.

Carmen would often voluntarily sit at the back but she definitely had a character deserving of front row billing (i.e. one to be emulated). She was a humble soul who never sought the limelight. Her meekness and sincerity was infectious. She would often leave home about two hours early to walk to service. She reluctantly accepted rides to and fro only after her health required it. She was an industrious woman who took pride in her ability to perform acts of manual labour. She was wonderful in the garden and shared her produce with a benevolent spirit. She loved hugs, both giving and getting them. She was expressive in her emotion and would frequently shed tears of sadness and joy. She loved her family and would often talk about them and ask for prayers on their behalf. She loved the brethren and would often express her concern towards the same. Most of all, she loved the Lord. She will be missed but would forever remain in my heart.
